Explore Wiltshire

Make the most of your visit by exploring this beautiful part of Wiltshire. As well as the following attractions there are several tea rooms, pubs and independent shops to enjoy in the village of Lacock

Lacock Abbey

National Trust’s Lacock Abbey and Gardens

The Abbey, located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds, is a quirky country house of various architectural styles, built upon the foundations of a former nunnery. Visitors can experience the atmosphere of the medieval rooms and cloister court, giving a sense of the Abbey's monastic past.

The George Pub

The George Inn has remained a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. Serving great food and great beer it is an ideal spot to meet with friends & family and relax over a few drinks or wonderful home cooked meal. The George has retained its Olde English character with original beams exposed to give private and cosy atmosphere as one of main features. This iconic pub is famous for its grand open fire place with a dog wheel.

The historic town of Bradford on Avon

Bradford on Avon is sometimes described in guidebooks as the last outpost of the Cotswolds, or a kind of 'mini-Bath' - but such shorthand descriptions capture only a fraction of the charm and variety of this unique town

Devizes

With its canals and magnificent flight of 29 locks

The charming historic market town of Devizes lies at the very heart of Wiltshire. Founded in Norman times at the boundaries (the Latin 'ad Divisas') of surrounding villages, the town grew up around the castle. The outline of the town walls shows in the 'D' shape of the centre which retains its mediaeval street plan. The town is compact and, being on the level, easy to walk round.

Bowood

Bowood House, Gardens, Adventure Playground & Golf Course

Bowood offers a fantastic day out for all the family. Famous for one of the UK’s most extensive Adventure Playgrounds, children are guaranteed the time of their lives. Younger children will enjoy meeting friendly farm animals at Tractor Ted’s Little Farm and undercover fun in the Soft Play Area.

Castle Combe Village

Castle Combe has been called 'The Prettiest Village in England' and with good reason; visitors have been coming to enjoy its charms for at least a century and the small street leading from the Market Cross down to the By Brook is as picturesque today as it ever was.

Bath

Independent, creative, unique and stylish, Bath is the only place in the UK where you can bathe in naturally hot spa water, making it the ultimate spa break destination for thousands of years. Whether you fancy a romantic short break, a fun family holiday, an indulgent foodie getaway or an exciting day out, Bath is guaranteed to delight. Discover England’s most complete Georgian architecture, iconic visitor attractions, great boutique shopping, fantastic entertainment, fabulous festivals and a remarkable range of restaurants, bars and cafés.

Avebury

In the 1930s, the pretty village of Avebury, partially encompassed by the stone circle of this World Heritage Site, was witness to the excavations of archaeologist Alexander Keiller. Keiller opened the museum here to display his findings in 1938 in the old stable building of Avebury Manor where he lived.

Longleat

Longleat Safari & Adventure Park is just getting bigger and better with more exciting things to see in 2014! New animals, new shows and new attractions… this is family fun at its very best!

Spent 2 nights here (in very wet June!) en route from North Devon and home, in order to visit Lacock and Abbey. Easy walk to National Trust village, well worth a visit. Very interesting place. Plenty places to eat.
Site was immaculate, very helpful owner met us at reception and directed us to hardstanding pitch with hook up, we thought site was well drained considering how much rain had fallen.
Two toilet blocks - one looks brand new. Quiet site, would return.
